Youth Water Festival

Have you ever heard of a Water Festival?  It’s a conference for kids!  Water Festivals are held all over the country to give students a splash of water education.  Since 2004, the Northglenn-Thornton-Westminster Water Festival has hosted more than 9,000 4th and 5th grade students.  Thanks to professionals who shared their knowledge with these students, the event has been a success!  Now the Cities are working together to provide the Water Festival again this year.

The Cities of Westminster, Northglenn and Thornton are pleased to offer the 10th
Annual Northglenn-Thornton-Westminster Water Festival.  While planned for fifth grade classes, fourth grade classes may attend if the water festival is curriculum appropriate.  Only one grade per school can attend.

The Water Festival aims to provide a fun, educational experience for students, teacher and parents.  The Water Festival has been scheduled for Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Front Range Community College in Westminster.  To encourage participation, the Cities are covering the cost of the Water Festival and bus transportation.

The Water Festival will engage students with topics such as water conservation, the history of Colorado water law, water chemistry, the water cycle, local water systems, aquatic wildlife and ecology.  Students will have fun with hands on activities while learning about local and global water issues. Contact us at info@ThorntonWater.com or call 720-977-6600 if you would like more information.
